Our Mission Statement
The Southridge Community of Christ is a community of faith, empowered by the Holy Spirit, that seeks to promote:
- Joy through caring fellowship;
- Hope through nurturing all people;
- Love through reaching out to others locally and worldwide;
- Peace by strengthening God's spirit in ourselves and in others.
Southridge is a thriving congregation of Community of Christ, a world-wide church, with headquarters in Independence, Missouri. World conferences are held every three years at The Auditorium in Independence.
Southridge Community of Christ belongs to the regional Greater Pacific Northwest Mission Center. Annual Mission Center conferences are held every November in Portland, Oregon.
Dan Jackson – Stewardship (Facilities, Finance, Mission Center Representative)
Fae Jackson – Spiritual Formation (Worship Planning, Pastoral Care/Administration, Youth Ministry)
Kathy Groat – Congregational Care (Pastoral Care/Activities, Communication, Prayer Requests, Scheduling)
Teresa Taylor – Mission (Outreach, Christian Education)
In 2015, Southridge elected to change from a single pastor format of leadership to a pastoral team concept. The new pastoral team allows each member to focus on his/her strengths and interests and provides for strong leadership based on consensus building and shared decision making. Members of the team are elected by the congregation for one year terms.
Fae is employed by the Vancouver School District as a registered nurse. She has two grown children who reside in the Northwest and recently became a grandmother. When not ministering to the congregation, she likes to walk her dog and spend time at the beach with her family.
Dan is self employed as a financial consultant and shares household responsibilities with Fae and also enjoys his recent change to grandfather status.
Kathy is an office assistant at Southridge Elementary School and is THE pie dough maker for the pies baked for our food booth at the annual Clark County Fair. When not baking pies, she is the mother of two grown children and also has a dog that keeps her on her toes.
Teresa is employed by Battle Ground School District where she works with students to help them be successful. She has been blessed with two children. Her son and his wife have blessed her with a grandson. Her daughter is 12 and keeps her active and always busy. She loves giving back to a congregation that has given so much to her. Her favorite past time is being with family, both immediate and church.
Our pastoral team is humbled to provide leadership to a congregation of members who share the blessings of their lives and their faith with others in our local community and in our world.
